New Year = New Blog Post and the Year for Design

Are you coming back to my website? If you are one of those people, I have a couple of questions for you:

  1. Don’t you just love the new design? (The answer should be yes)

  2. What are you doing back here without a direct link? Just hire me already!

But in some seriousness, I’ve made the decision to dedicate this entire year to improving as a designer and that begins… with a new website.

“I know, I know. You’ve heard it before. I always say that I want to change my website only to chicken out and change a few sentences. But no more.”

No more I say!

This year I want to finally be able to work on:

  • Typography – and hopefully create a sort of unique font I can use for my design trademarks and the rest of the website

  • Illustrations – I think I’ll surprise no one when I say that I can’t draw anything that resembles a character. And I think that most places of work expect me to be able to doodle and create characters. Unfair? Maybe. A reality I need to get with? Definitely.

  • WebDesign – “But Rovinya!?” I hear you ask. “isn’t that a new type of job altogether??”. And the answer is: yes. But it’s another thing that’s expected of you as a designer in a more concentrated team. You’re supposed to apply what you have to a bunch of different jobs.

So, with all of you, blog readers, as my witnesses, I’ll be tied to my word to improve on all these things throughout the year. And my website will need to be brand new to fit all of these in.

Therefore, as you are my witnesses, I’ll have to do all of these things. If I don’t, you’ll know! Call yourselves my New Year’s resolution coaches!

Wish me luck!
